Linlithgow

The stunning results achieved at Linlithgow can be attributed to the harmony between bespoke external lights and well placed, understated step/path lighting. The aesthetic outcome is dramatic and subtle, in keeping with the quality of one of Melbourne’s finest leafy residences. Light on Landscape was commissioned early in this rebuilding project to supply, install and maintain the external lighting of this grand property’s garden, water feature, driveway, sculptures and outdoor dining area.

The lighting design layout incorporated many separate elements. All spaces required lighting continuity at the same time as highlighting the distinct personality of each. This was achieved by employing multiple styles and directional illumination techniques. In response to the textural nature of the garden, moonlighting from the mature liquidambar was used for the front courtyard – softly illuminating the tufts of lush lily and hydrangea mass-planted below. Light on Landscape’s well known lantern lights and the scroll bracket pendants used for the grand entry were perfect for this classically-styled Nicholas Day home. Light on Landscape visits this garden as a part of a yearly maintenance schedule to ensure all fittings work properly and to reduce the potential for costly repairs.
